Job Overview

Objective & Responsibilities:


The Central Sterilization Specialist II is tasked with the thorough cleaning and decontamination of medical instruments and equipment. This role involves the preparation of sterile procedure trays and the operation of various sterilization devices, including steam and low-temperature sterilizers. The specialist is also responsible for maintaining sterile and clean storage areas, as well as other departmental spaces. Duties include responding to phone inquiries and service requests, delivering necessary items, and ensuring all documentation related to activities is completed accurately. The specialist is expected to uphold the organization's mission, goals, and safety protocols while assisting in other areas as needed.

Additionally, participation in training and in-service programs for staff and students is required.

The individual in this position must consistently demonstrate accountability and quality performance, representing the Central Sterilization department in a professional and positive manner.


Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with completion of an accredited central service technician training program, which is preferred.

Experience:
A minimum of two years of experience in sterile processing is preferred.

Certification:
Preferred certification in sterile processing is advantageous.
