Unavailable is in search of a Revenue Cycle Specialist II to join our dynamic team.

Summary

This role involves collaborating with operational functions and analyzing data related to Revenue Cycle systems, with a specific focus on patient financial responsibilities. The position entails executing tasks associated with the hospital's Revenue Cycle while serving as a key intermediary between billing systems, personnel, and management. Responsibilities include reviewing reports and trends related to patient financial obligations to provide insights on accounts receivable activities to management. This encompasses evaluating hospital, physician, and third-party billing systems for Collections and Customer Service. Additionally, the role requires the development of training materials, operational reports, and the creation of efficient workflows.

Job Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Health Services Administration, Health Information Management, or a related field is required; or an Associate's degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience in revenue cycle management.
  • An internal HFMA credential is required (to be obtained within six months of employment).
  • A minimum of two years of experience in healthcare, business, or analytical roles is necessary.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential.
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in creating training materials and documentation, with the ability to instruct others.
  • A self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient computer skills are required, with a solid understanding of intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate procedures clearly.
  • Ability to perform effectively and meet deadlines in high-pressure situations.
  • Training in Hospital Electronic Medical Systems is highly recommended.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review tasks and worklists to assist in coordinating action plans with supervisors and managers.
  • Support the Customer Service and Collections teams by collaborating with leadership to disseminate information that enhances Revenue Cycle performance.
  • Provide analytical solutions to data-related issues.
  • Assist in maintaining operational metrics and measures for the Revenue Cycle.
  • Take responsibility for the maintenance, development, and optimization of departmental systems.
  • Propose process improvements to streamline workflows and enhance policies and procedures.
  • Assist with month-end reporting and data analysis, as well as generating recurring reports.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Cycle staff, Internal Audit, and hospital leadership regarding departmental needs.
  • Contribute to the creation of knowledge management materials, including training content as necessary, and participate in planning for future training requirements.
  • Work with internal IT teams to assist in testing new system functionalities, learning, implementing, and training on associated workflows and processes.
  • Collaborate with management on project-related needs and provide analytical support for initiatives and changes.
  • Understand the implications of system projects and changes in policies and procedures.
  • Represent Revenue Cycle teams in relevant meetings and committees.
  • Promote adherence to departmental and organizational information security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
