Front-End Revenue Cycle Specialist

About the Role:
The University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist to play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of patient services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage a wide range of complex duties that support front-end revenue cycle and clinic functions for hospital and clinic operations.
- Serve as a functional expert for department peers and oversee team adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with scheduling departments to identify add-on patients and obtain necessary authorizations, pre-certifications, and referrals.
- Maintain accurate records, files, and documentation in the system of record.
- Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
- Work independently and effectively manage stress in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Strong data entry skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles
