Position Summary

AECOM is looking for a Senior Environmental Consultant to join our team in Portland, Oregon, supporting projects across the Pacific Northwest.

This position requires relocation to the Portland area, as it is not available for remote work. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in environmental engineering, consulting, project management, and hold a Professional Engineer license in Oregon, with specific experience in remediation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead engineering initiatives, mentor junior personnel, and manage environmental project tasks.
  • Oversee project teams and subcontractors.
  • Ensure timely delivery of technical submissions.
  • Engage with stakeholders and maintain effective communication.
  • Manage project finances and budgets.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or related fields (chemical, civil, mechanical) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, remediation, and project management, or equivalent experience and education.
  • Professional Engineer License in Oregon.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of experience in the environmental remediation and consulting sector, with occasional travel.
  • Professional Engineer License in Oregon.
  • PMP certification is preferred or a willingness to obtain it within 12 months of hire.
  • Experience in negotiations with regulators and stakeholders.
  • Background in environmental projects for federal and state clients.
  • Proven experience in team leadership and resource scheduling to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
  • Experience in business development related to environmental and remediation projects.
  • Expertise in preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders, with a history of leading teams in executing various environmental project phases.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or GIS applications, along with 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.

Compensation:

This is an exempt position, and the offered compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this role is competitive.
