Job Title: Senior Restoration Design Engineer

We seek an experienced Senior Restoration Design Engineer with 15 or more years of professional experience and expertise in planning and design of projects in rivers, streams, and floodplains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support a variety of mitigation, restoration, flood risk reduction, and infrastructure protection projects for public and private clients throughout the Western United States.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary internal and client project teams to develop holistic solutions.
  • Develop design plans, construction specifications, and construction cost estimates.
  • Manage design tasks through design completion and construction.
  • Prepare proposals and develop scopes of work and budgets for design work.
  • Participate in business development and marketing efforts.
Requirements
  • 15+ years of professional experience in concept development and design of stream and river restoration and floodplain management projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, or master's degree in civil or environmental engineering if undergraduate degree was not in engineering.
  • Current professional engineer (PE) license in Washington or Oregon, or ability to readily obtain one via comity application based on licensure in another US state.
  • Familiarity with Washington State permitting requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in civil engineering or environmental science with an emphasis on aquatic ecosystems restoration, hydraulics, and/or geomorphology.
  • Experience as a project manager of floodplain and restoration design or planning projects.
  • Fish passage analysis and design experience with roadway culverts.
  • Construction management and inspection experience.
  • Experience with hydrologic analysis and modeling techniques.
  • Hydraulic modeling experience (one- and two-dimensional).
  • Permit application experience in Western states.
