This position is for a Senior Business Planning & Analysis Analyst within the newly established Operations & Technology Analytics & Decision Management team, focusing on Vendor Optimization. The mission of this team is to collaborate with stakeholders to formulate a vendor management strategy aimed at uncovering optimization opportunities for hardware, software, and third-party resources across Operations & Technology.

The team is responsible for providing a consistent framework and guidelines surrounding vendor expenditures to ensure proper controls are in place and to foster accountability in spending practices. Strong communication and diplomatic skills are essential to effectively guide, influence, and persuade others, particularly colleagues from different departments. This role presents a unique opportunity to significantly impact the organization through complex deliverables.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead critical initiatives within the organization by gathering, analyzing, reviewing, reporting, documenting, and communicating business needs and requirements.
  • Address complex and highly variable challenges with considerable potential business implications.
  • Utilize creativity and resourcefulness in problem analysis and resolution in intricate and/or novel scenarios.
  • Provide guidance or mentorship to new or junior personnel regarding the business processes and procedures of the supported area.
  • Manage the engagement of key stakeholders and promote the adoption of recommendations and solutions.
  • Offer thought leadership with the capability to align operational processes with organizational strategies, demonstrating experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Conduct comprehensive and sophisticated analyses with interpretive thinking to identify problems and develop innovative solutions. Influence strategic functional decisions through advice, counsel, or services that directly impact the business.
  • Assess risks appropriately when making business decisions, with particular attention to the firm's reputation and safeguarding its clients and assets, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, and applying sound ethical judgment in personal conduct and business practices.
Knowledge & Experience:
  • Ability to clearly articulate data insights using business intelligence and data visualization techniques.
  • Proven capability to synthesize and analyze complex data, interpret trends or patterns, and convert it into actionable information.
  • Strong problem structuring and analytical skills - the ability to decompose complex issues into manageable components for resolution.
  • Willingness to thrive in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent planning, analytical, and organizational skills to juggle multiple demands.
  • Commitment to quality, meticulous attention to detail, and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), adapting style to suit various audiences across the organization.
  • Stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to translate and convey financial concepts to Operations & Technology teams with varying levels of financial acumen.
  • Sound judgment and robust leadership skills, with a proven history of managing teams and positively impacting the organization.
Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience in a financial management-related field.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; a Master's degree or additional qualifications are preferred.
  • Experience within the financial services sector, particularly in Operations & Technology, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with cross-functional teams across Operations, Financial Planning & Analysis, Procurement, and Controllers to achieve shared objectives.
  • Experienced leader in cultivating a collaborative team environment, fostering teamwork, trust, and mutual respect.
  • High emotional intelligence to navigate through a complex matrix of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite is essential.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools, such as Tableau, is preferred.
  • Creative thinking - the ability to challenge conventional wisdom.
