Position Overview
WSP is seeking a Full-Time Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in Protection and Controls within the Substation Design sector. This role is integral to our NW Pacific Power and Energy Team, which provides expert advisory and engineering services to clients in the energy industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Immediate opportunity for a Substation Electrical Engineer with a focus on protection and control systems.
- Play a vital role in addressing Climate Change by promoting clean hydro power and renewable energy sources.
- Collaborate on design initiatives for high voltage substations as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure that all design activities comply with relevant codes and standards.
- Engage in various tasks including the design of electrical substation facilities, preparation of project specifications, and conducting site inspections during construction phases.
- Work alongside a dynamic team, utilizing modern tools and software, with opportunities for travel to project sites.
Essential Qualifications
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without restrictions.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of post-educational experience in engineering, with a background in electrical design.
- Possession of an engineering license or the ability to secure one within a year in designated states.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, practices, and design/build methodologies.
- Familiarity with contemporary electric power systems, protection systems, and transmission & distribution networks.
- Experience with AutoCAD, relay protection schemes, and SCADA system design.
Desirable Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Engineering is preferred.
- Health & Safety Training and First Aid Certification are advantageous.
- Candidate must be willing to undergo pre-employment screenings.

Compensation Details
The expected salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $160,000.
