Job Overview

Position Title: Senior Risk Modeler

Location: Remote

Position Summary: We are in search of an experienced Risk Modeler with a robust background in the creation of CCAR PPNR (Pre-Provision Net Revenue) models, which encompass interest, non-interest, and income and expense frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a solid statistical foundation, with considerable proficiency in time series analysis and a thorough comprehension of the international regulatory environment.

Key Duties:

  • Construct PPNR models across diverse banking portfolios for a prominent US CCAR institution.
  • Participate in all phases of model creation, including data preparation, development of component models, testing by developers, and crafting detailed model documentation that adheres to regulatory and internal standards.
  • Facilitate independent model validation efforts by supplying essential information and analyses.
  • Deliver analysis and model findings to senior leadership within the organization.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage client relationships to ensure effective model development and execution.

Required Qualifications:

  1. 7-10 years of experience in Banking and Financial Services analytics, with a minimum of 5 years specifically in Risk and PPNR Modeling.
  2. Proven experience with CCAR PPNR models is highly desirable.
  3. 5+ years of practical experience in model development and validation, employing various statistical methodologies, including time series techniques.
  4. Thorough understanding of the global regulatory framework, including CCAR/DFAST, PPNR, IFRS9, and CECL.
  5. Exceptional client management, communication, and presentation skills—both written and verbal—with the capability to effectively network, negotiate, and influence.
  6. A self-motivated, proactive individual with a positive attitude, able to navigate ambiguity with minimal oversight.
  7. Experience in project management.
  8. Proficiency in Python and/or R for statistical modeling and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with CCAR PPNR model development in a leading financial organization.
  • Experience in managing large datasets and developing models within a regulatory framework.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior team members.
