North Suffolk Community Services Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Substance Abuse Specialist to lead our Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS) team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive services to adults with serious and persistent mental illness.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the ACCS Team: Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the ACCS team, ensuring that services are delivered in a person-centered and recovery-oriented manner.
- Assess and Develop Treatment Plans: Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals served, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure successful outcomes.
- Provide Direct Interventions: Provide direct interventions and supports to individuals served, including individual, group, and family counseling, as well as psychoeducational services regarding addictions.
- Collaborate with Community Resources: Develop and maintain relationships with community treatment and support programs, ensuring seamless referrals and transitions for individuals served.
- Document Progress and Outcomes: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of individual progress and outcomes, ensuring compliance with established methods and procedures.
- Education and Licensure: Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor (LADC-1) preferred; LADC-II, CADC, or CADC-II required, or a Certified Recovery Coach with a strong understanding of core competencies in the field.
- Experience: Previous experience in the provision of clinical or rehabilitative services to adults with substance use disorders and other addictive behaviors required.
- Skills: Valid driver's license, MAP certification, and CPR/First Aid certification within the first five months of hire.
- Competitive Salary: Salary starts at $55,000 and is based on licensure and experience.
