Position Overview:
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated Research Associate to contribute to groundbreaking studies in the field of immunology. This role is pivotal in advancing our understanding of cancer therapies and will involve collaboration with a dynamic research team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in full-time research activities focused on innovative cancer treatments.
  • Participate in the development of novel pre-clinical models to study ovarian cancer.
  • Contribute to the engineering of T cell-based immunotherapies aimed at enhancing immune responses against solid tumors.
  • Collaborate with fellow researchers, graduate students, and lab technicians on various projects.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and assist in the writing of research papers and grant applications.
  • Attend and contribute to laboratory meetings and seminars related to immunology and cancer biology.

Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. or M.D. in a relevant scientific discipline at the time of appointment.
  • Experience in immunology, molecular biology, or cancer research is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with T cell biology and genetic engineering techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability in grant writing.
  • Detail-oriented and highly motivated to explore new research avenues.

Work Environment:
This position primarily involves laboratory work, requiring the ability to navigate various lab settings and utilize desktop computers extensively. Occasional travel between buildings may be necessary for meetings and collaborative efforts.
