Position SummaryWe are seeking a Sous Chef to support culinary operations at a prominent educational institution. This role is crucial in maintaining high standards in meal preparation and service.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing cost management and budget adherence.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to design and implement innovative menus.
- Execute exceptional catering services that leave a lasting impression.
- Introduce new culinary initiatives in partnership with the marketing and culinary teams.
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in culinary arts.
- Progressive experience in kitchen management.
- Experience in catering services is advantageous.
- Flexibility to work weekends and various shifts as required.
- Experience in high-volume food service operations is preferred.
- Knowledge of institutional and batch cooking practices is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of food trends, quality control, sanitation, and presentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills.
- Willingness to engage in client satisfaction initiatives.
- ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
