Job Summary:

The Insurance Relations Manager will play a crucial role in coordinating and communicating with our dental and health plan payers at Affordable Care. This position will support all of our 450 clinics, providers, and staff to help manage and communicate all things insurance, claims, billing, rates, and credentialing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the performance of outsourced vendors to ensure quality, cost, and timeliness of service to our practices and corporate.
  • Provide weekly reports of progress on key performance indicators (KPIs) and issues to the manager and vendor.
  • Coordinate all internal department activities related to revenue cycle management (RCM) activities, which will initially be outsourced.
  • Develop and present strategic plans, metrics, and performance reports to management and vendors using PowerPoint.
  • Collaborate with the Central Billing Office (RCM team) to resolve accounts receivable (AR) issues identified by status checks performed by outside vendors.
  • Audit and monitor outsourced services to ensure efficiency and adoption by our practices.
  • Seek regular feedback from stakeholders relevant to outsourced functions.
  • Monitor process flows and provide feedback to improve processes and results.

Requirements:

  • Ability to interpret and effectively communicate insurance regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to facilitate training sessions for staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Well-organized, accurate, and thorough.
  • Adaptable and able to manage competing demands.
  • Adept at prioritizing, planning work activities, and developing reasonable action plans.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years of commercial insurance or Medicaid experience preferred.
  • Experience in a medical or dental practice preferred.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Proficiency with dental or medical software; Dentrix preferred.

Core Competencies:

  • High level of customer service orientation.
  • Ability to assess development needs of affiliated auxiliary practice staff.
  • Knowledgeable in creating and presenting training course material.
  • Strong skills in interpersonal communication, analysis, critical thinking, attention to detail, multi-tasking, and oral & written communication.
