The Peer Support Specialist serves as a role model, mentor, and advocate to individuals in recovery, helping to prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery. This position requires a strong ability to share personal recovery experiences and develop authentic peer-to-peer relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Engage clients in a personal, supportive manner, providing guidance within the purview of individual recovery plans.
- Coordinate with clinicians to ensure comprehensive care and support.
- Assist clients with miscellaneous recovery needs, including connecting them with relevant resources.
- Maintain accurate records on Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software.
- Must be in successful recovery for more than 2 years.
- Hold a valid certification as a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CRS, CHW/CRS combined, CAPRC-I, CAPRC-II, or CSPR).
- Be well-versed in pathways to recovery and social systems, including evidence-based practices.
- Have intermediate computer proficiency, including Excel and Word.
- Experience with EMR software is required.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is necessary.
