About the Role

The Peer Support Specialist serves as a role model, mentor, and advocate to individuals in recovery, helping to prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery. This position requires a strong ability to share personal recovery experiences and develop authentic peer-to-peer relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage clients in a personal, supportive manner, providing guidance within the purview of individual recovery plans.
  • Coordinate with clinicians to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Assist clients with miscellaneous recovery needs, including connecting them with relevant resources.
  • Maintain accurate records on Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software.
Requirements
  • Must be in successful recovery for more than 2 years.
  • Hold a valid certification as a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CRS, CHW/CRS combined, CAPRC-I, CAPRC-II, or CSPR).
  • Be well-versed in pathways to recovery and social systems, including evidence-based practices.
  • Have intermediate computer proficiency, including Excel and Word.
  • Experience with EMR software is required.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is necessary.
