Job Summary

Octane Design LLC is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Generalist to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for designing and developing the people side of our growing firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures related to hiring, compliance, and employee relations.
  • Monitor and maintain records pertaining to independent contractors and ensure compliance with IRS regulations.
  • Organize and maintain employee files and I-9 documentation.
  • Develop job descriptions and create job postings for all positions within the organization.
  • Coordinate and manage the interview process, including providing expertise on interviewing guidelines and EEO laws.
  • Prepare onboarding materials and conduct orientations for new hires.
  • Provide information and support regarding employee benefits programs and assist with benefits enrollment and changes.
  • Liaise with benefits vendors and manage benefit-related inquiries and issues.
  • Assist with the collection and verification of timekeeping data and address employee questions and issues related to payroll.
  • Facilitate effective communication between employees and management and support company leadership in various ad hoc projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification or similar professional HR certification.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a higher-level HR Generalist role with responsibilities of recruitment, hiring, compliance, labor laws, employee relations, and benefits.
  • Demonstrated experience growing the HR function of a startup/emerging company.
  • Comfortable being an HR department of one or a small HR department of less than 5 employees.
  • Self-starter with initiative to find answers or information when not readily available.
  • Expert level of knowledge regarding the hiring and compliance of independent contractors.
  • Technologically savvy with experience working in varying software programs and online platforms.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to confidentially maintain employee and company information.
  • Excellent ability to establish priorities, coordinate work activities, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic work environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking and writing skills preferred.
