Job Summary

This Enrollment Representative II role is a full-time position at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, requiring 40 hours of work per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The position involves working at the Percival location and has the potential to become fully trained within six months.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and manage subscriber and member enrollment applications, including new enrollments, terminations, cancellations, changes, and renewals.
  • Update all electronic enrollment files and work with edit/error reports generated from membership transactions.
  • Collaborate with multiple operational areas to ensure accurate group structure, status, benefits, and billing.
  • Prepare and issue contracts, benefit books, and standard and custom ID cards.
  • Respond to and resolve customer inquiries, and contact plan administrators and internal/external customers to resolve issues.
  • Train new staff, update/maintain accurate desk procedures, and assist with problem resolution.
  • Coordinate monthly billing and prepare monthly invoices, including printing, registering, and mailing bills.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of customer service, administration/clerical support, or a combination of the two, with one year of experience in a membership/billing/accounts area (may be concurrent).
  • Ability to acquire knowledge of the membership system.
  • Good judgment, effective customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills.
  • Ability to persuade, negotiate, or influence others.
  • Analytical or critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.

  • Prior customer service experience.
  • Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) proficiency.
