Job Title: Safety Specialist

Actalent is seeking a highly skilled Safety Specialist to join our team in Seattle, Washington. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for promoting a positive culture while ensuring compliance with standards and maintaining a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams and corporate-based reporting systems
  • Support leadership efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate program expectations and applicable federal and state laws
  • Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Safety Analysis) and new equipment introductions
  • Recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics
  • Attend daily meetings with various teams
  • Write and present weekly safety topics to production teams
  • Write and present monthly safety topics as directed
  • Perform safety inspections on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
  • Ensure compliance with all safety-related requirements, Federal, State, and Local regulations, OSHA standards, and Environmental Protection Agency requirements
  • Provide weekly reports as needed
Requirements:
  • High school or equivalent
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
  • Minimum of 1 year in an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field OR a Bachelor's degree in EHS-relevant background OR 6 months experience performing in a safety-related role within Amazon
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity
  • Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues in the workplace
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to conduct trainings and coach associates
  • Strong communication skills for writing and presenting safety topics
  • Attention to detail for maintaining accurate metrics and performing safety inspections
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including days, nights, and/or weekends
