Job Summary

The Learning and Organizational Development Manager will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering organizational development and capacity building services to healthcare organizations and health departments across the country. This role will involve supervising a team of staff who will design, develop, and deliver professional consulting, coaching, and facilitation activities to improve HIV/STI and syndemic prevention strategies and cultural humility for populations of focus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement program goals and strategies to meet grant deliverables.
  • Partner with national occupational development organizations to plan and implement the delivery of technical assistance, consultation, organizational development plans, and training to enhance clinical initiatives.
  • Collaborate with national and federal organizations to assess and respond to organizational development needs of healthcare professionals targeted through their HIV/STD prevention initiatives.
  • Supervise a team of organizational development consultants and trainers, evaluating performance and developing growth plans.
  • Oversee program performance and budget.
  • Develop regular reports based on program directions, goals, and performance.
  • Design, create, refine, and develop formal and informal learning solutions to meet organizational needs.
  • Employ instructional design methods and techniques to respond to customer needs.
  • Review evaluations from services conducted and provide feedback to consultants, trainers, key collaborators, and employ continuous quality improvement strategies.
  • Comply with all copyright laws.
  • Assist with oversight of the learning management system and the delivery of continuing medical education credits.
  • Review partnerships with clients and consultants to identify opportunities and solutions.
  • Review assessment tools and analyze the results of assessments in a manner that assists organizations, clients, and program staff.
  • Identify and analyze trends and forces to recommend and implement solutions that have an effect on business results pertaining to individuals, departments, and the organization.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze information regarding the impact of learning solutions against key business drivers, presenting the information in a way that is meaningful to the organization.
  • Use participant and peer/manager feedback to modify the training design to better fit organizational needs.
  • Report evaluation results to national funders, where appropriate.
  • Build and maintain relationships with federal, state, local, and community partners.
  • Provide leadership to execute the organization's strategy; plans, monitors, and adjusts learning and development projects or activities.
  • Sustain a positive public image for Public Health and supports the long-range success of the organization.
  • Apply structured approaches to shift teams and organizations from a current state to a desired state.
  • Deliver or oversee the development of informal and formal learning solutions through face-to-face, online, or web-based delivery in a manner that both engages the learner and produces the desired outcomes.
  • Coordinate with other subject matter experts to deliver content that manages and responds to learner needs.
  • Assign duties, review work, expedite workflow, and use progressive disciplinary process for substandard performance.
  • Use an interactive process to help leaders develop rapidly and produce results; improving leaders' ability to set goals, take action, make better decisions, and make full use of their natural strengths.
  • Provide consultation daily to health departments and healthcare organizations through emails and phone calls and connects peers together for peer-to-peer consultation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Public Health, Organizational Development, Behavioral Science, Instructional Design, Clinical Degree, or other related field.
  • 4-6 years of training and organizational development experience to healthcare professionals with an emphasis in consulting-based activities, including peer-to-peer coaching, facilitation, and training design, development, and delivery.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Prior experience working in or with clinics preferred.
