About the Role:

This position oversees and manages early childhood-focused internal and community-based evaluation services and activities. A primary focus is to ensure educators' access to data to use in individual and classroom goal setting and organizational best practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the organization's strategic plan and KPIs, implementing processes and approaches to track progress toward achievement of annual goals and objectives.
  • Assist in preparing grant proposals related to evaluation work.
  • Assess the validity and reliability of instruments and data collection processes.
  • Develop and implement data management processes across multiple evaluation sites.
  • Develop systematic and standard operating procedures for employees to implement during data collection, processing, and reporting stages.
  • Develop project work plans that clearly identify staffing roles, tasks, and timelines.
  • Develop and manage scopes of work for projects, including budgets, deliverables, and deadlines.
Requirements:
  • Solid understanding of evaluation design, methodology, and analysis.
  • Skilled in partnering for Participatory Action Research and educator and parent-led processes.
  • Competency with at least one statistical package (e.g., SPSS).
  • Knowledge of Qualtrics or other survey software, Airtable, SQL, or Tableau.
  • Advanced-level statistical and data management expertise required (i.e., the general linear model, merging datasets, and linking relational databases).
  • Skilled in quantitative research methods, with expertise in several of the following areas: survey methods, qualitative research methods, and analytic techniques and software.
  • Strong knowledge of and skill in preparing materials for institutional review.
  • Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills; can maintain and process a variety of information.
  • Significant experience in the field of early childhood education, particularly as it relates to evaluation, implementation science, research, policy, and/or data utilization.
  • Experience with commonly used early childhood assessment tools; familiarity with emerging approaches and instruments.
  • Preferred prior training in the administration, data management, and interpretation of standardized child assessments such as the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test, Preschool Language Scale, 5th Edition, or similar tools.
  • Preferred training, experience, and reliability in one or more of the Environment Rating Scales and/or CLASS tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate evaluation findings to a variety of audiences, including funders, board members, program leadership, community partners, service providers, and families.
  • Experience in relating to others who represent various backgrounds. May involve interaction with persons whose first language is not English. Work with other people taking into consideration, among the dynamics, their needs, personal styles, and job responsibilities.
  • Strong training and facilitation skills, including the ability to communicate data/findings to classroom personnel in ways that support continuous quality improvement in classroom practice.

  • Ability to develop and track project timelines, expenditures, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with community and Clayton program staff, students, and parents.
  • Ability to build relationships with strong interpersonal skills; excellent customer service skills and can work with individuals of all backgrounds in a respectful manner.
  • Planning and creative skills; with the ability to multi-task and prioritize competing deadlines; can problem solve and create solutions for unanticipated issues and challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in task management; teamwork; time management; and communication with teams, managers, and funders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn and adapt to new software.
  • Masters Degree in education, educational research methods, human development and family studies, psychology, or a related field.

Compensation: $70,000-$80,000 annually.
