Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada is currently seeking a full-time, on-site Oncology Office Coordinator at our clinic.

In this role, you will operate in a dynamic, high-volume oncology practice alongside some of the leading physicians in their specialties while providing exceptional care to patients within a successful healthcare organization.


SCOPE:
Professionally greets and welcomes patients and their companions. Manages, screens, and directs all incoming calls to the appropriate personnel, relaying messages between patients and clinical staff.

Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, and US Oncology's Shared Values.


Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Welcomes patients and visitors to the clinic in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
Facilitates patient check-in and informs clinical staff of patient arrivals.

Provides and clarifies paperwork for patients to complete prior to their examination. Collects, verifies for completeness, and scans/files patient forms.

Updates patient demographics and insurance information in the system.

Collects co-pays and outstanding balances; issues receipts.

Answers phone calls in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.

Screens and addresses routine inquiries via phone, electronic communications, or face-to-face interactions, directing to appropriate personnel or taking detailed messages.

Pages clinic personnel as necessary.

Communicates messages accurately and promptly according to established protocols.

Records patient cancellations and missed appointments. Reschedules as needed.

Notifies appropriate staff of cancellations and documents in the patient chart.

Schedules external consultations/procedures as ordered by physicians.


Provides general administrative support by scanning/filing charts and forms or ensuring they are sent to the appropriate department/personnel for processing.

Keeps the lobby area organized and tidy.

Maintains a sufficient supply of forms and necessary office supplies for daily operations.

Adheres to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations regarding patient records.

Schedules all CT (CAT) scans and PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scans, once approved by insurance.

Maintains the chart message and anything that is in the queue.

Scans and copies updated insurance cards.

Performs other duties as assigned.

May type memos and forms.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required.

A minimum of eighteen (18) months of experience as a front medical office receptionist with knowledge of insurance forms and scheduling software is required.

Familiarity with the practice's personnel, daily routines, and scheduling is advantageous.

Proficiency in computer systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) is required.

Must complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of starting the position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

and walking for extended periods. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:


The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions typical of an oncology/hematology clinic environment.

Work will involve in-person interaction with colleagues and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.
