The State of Connecticut is looking for qualified agency employees to consider for the role of Transportation Maintenance Supervisor. This position is based at the Wallingford Maintenance facility. Position Highlights:

  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Weekly Commitment: 40 hours

Role Overview:

This position entails supervising and delegating daily responsibilities while providing training to a team of Transportation Maintainers engaged in tree removal operations across various state roadways and highways.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must possess a current and valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tank endorsement, which should be indicated in the 'Licenses and Professional Certifications' section of the application. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
  • Candidates invited for an interview must present a copy of their valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B, demonstrating the 'tank endorsement,' along with a valid Medical Examiner's Card (MEC) at the time of the interview.
  • Incumbents must be prepared to accept emergency assignments, including snow and ice removal, as needed, which may involve mandatory winter overtime.
  • Residency within a 20-mile radius of the job location is required.
  • Applicants must provide a copy of their Master Application during the interview.
  • Demonstrating relevant knowledge and experience on the application is essential for advancing in the hiring process.
  • Interview candidates will be asked to supply copies of their Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A or B, with Tank Endorsement, valid Medical Examiner's Card (MEC), and their last two performance evaluations.
  • Certification in aerial bucket truck operation and fall protection is required prior to eligibility for interview and skills evaluation.
