Job Overview

DPR Construction is seeking a Lead Carpentry Supervisor with a minimum of 10 years in the construction field, including 3-5 years in a supervisory role.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in various facets of general construction carpentry, ideally within DPR's primary sectors such as life sciences, healthcare, higher education, commercial, and advanced technology.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, guide, and mentor construction teams while executing tasks pertinent to the role.
  • Oversee and coordinate the planning, layout, material management, maintenance, and inspections of carpentry work, ensuring compliance with all relevant plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.
  • Manage jobsite logistics effectively.
  • Engage in hands-on work as necessary.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with other trades and the main project team.
  • Champion DPR's Injury Free Environment (IFE) Safety Program.
  • Monitor crew productivity and quality.
  • Interpret and execute blueprint drawings and layouts.
  • Calculate various mathematical figures including proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Oversee procurement and tracking of materials for installation.
  • Coordinate work scopes efficiently.
  • Assist in developing resource-loaded schedules.
  • Process timesheets accurately.
  • Conduct employee coaching and performance evaluations.
  • Hold OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Familiarity with construction software such as Plan-grid, Hammertech, and Rhumbix.
  • Proficient in using an iPad for work-related tasks.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to climb, stand, sit, walk, reach, bend, balance, squat, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Skilled in using various tools and equipment essential for carpentry tasks, including straight edges, floats, trowels, and finishing machines.
  • Capacity to lift, push, or pull weights up to 100 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Work primarily occurs on-site, which may include both indoor and outdoor settings. Conditions may involve heights, exposure to varying weather conditions, loud noises, dust, and fumes.
  • Adherence to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements is mandatory at all times, including safety vests, protective eyewear, hearing protection, gloves, hard hats, and appropriate footwear.
