Job Overview

Position: Project Housekeeper

Company: Masonicare Health Center

Schedule: Day Shift, 40 hours per week with Comprehensive Benefits

Shift Timing: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

**Floor Care Experience Required** - Proficiency in operating floor care machinery is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Uphold established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, ensuring compliance with quality assessment and improvement initiatives, as well as safety, environmental, and infection control standards.

2. Follow a structured schedule that defines the frequency and timing of tasks. Lead and collaborate with the cleaning team on assigned projects. Perform housekeeping duties when not engaged in project work.

3. Manage waste disposal, including trash, biomedical waste, and recyclables, transporting them to designated collection sites. Operate compactors and package biomedical waste as required.

4. Conduct floor stripping and refinishing, as well as carpet extraction. Perform dry and wet mopping of floors.

5. Clean walls and windows, and manage the hanging and removal of draperies and cubicle curtains. Maintain and repair beds, wheelchairs, geri chairs, and other patient-related equipment and furnishings.

6. Relocate furniture and equipment as directed, and prepare spaces for meetings, activities, and special events.

  1. Execute isolation and terminal cleaning in accordance with established procedures.

8. Communicate effectively and respectfully with residents/patients, considering their age, needs, abilities, and physical conditions.

9. Participate in departmental and organizational meetings and training programs.

  1. Understand and adhere to universal precautions relevant to the department.
  1. Perform all duties with a focus on safety, respect, care, and concern for residents/patients/clients and staff. Report any concerns to clinical staff that may require attention on behalf of residents.
  1. Utilize vacuum cleaners and various mechanical floor/carpet equipment.
  1. Manage the removal and hanging of window draperies and cubicle curtains.
  1. Wash window draperies and cubicle curtains, as well as clean walls and vents.
  1. Assist other departments within Masonicare as needed.
  1. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: **Floor Care Experience Required**, along with On-the-Job Training.
