Position Summary:

The Fleet Safety & Compliance Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the secure and regulatory-compliant operation of our fleet. This position is pivotal in adhering to FMCSA & DOT standards, overseeing all necessary pre and post-trip inspections, ensuring ELD compliance, and maintaining thorough training and documentation. The manager will guarantee that all vehicles are roadworthy and that drivers are well-trained in professional driving standards at Julius Silvert.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to all FMCSA & DOT regulations.
  • Oversee the daily pre and post-trip inspection protocols along with the DVIR process.
  • Develop and refine the Company Safety & Training program for drivers.
  • Ensure compliance with preventative maintenance schedules and maintain accurate documentation for all equipment.
  • Monitor ELD & Safety software to uphold compliance and evaluate safety ratings.
  • Conduct on-road safety inspections, including ride-alongs and spontaneous evaluations.
  • Verify monthly fuel and mileage for IFTA reporting.
  • Perform repairs within the scope of expertise.
  • Be available for road calls and necessary on-site repairs.
  • Conduct accident investigations and provide re-training as required.
  • Manage the fueling operations.
  • Conduct daily yard checks and vehicle inspections.
  • Collaborate closely with Transportation Managers to oversee on-road activities and deliveries.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule, including on-call availability to support operations.
