Job Overview

Hart to Heart Ambulance Service Inc is in search of a dynamic Fleet Maintenance Manager who possesses strong leadership capabilities, exceptional communication skills, and a knack for organization and multitasking. This role is pivotal in engaging automotive technicians and fostering a positive team culture while adhering to the stringent maintenance standards set by our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the coordination, scheduling, and auditing of vehicle maintenance, including preventative and mechanical repairs for small paratransit buses and mobility lifts.
  2. Participate in the recruitment, training, and continuous development of vehicle maintenance technicians to ensure a skilled workforce that meets customer expectations.
  3. Manage the implementation of service operational procedures, policies, and training programs.
  4. Direct all aspects of incoming service and preventative maintenance requests.
  5. Proactively oversee preventative maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  6. Maintain high standards of customer service and address escalated concerns beyond the technicians' responsibilities.
  7. Encourage professional growth among technicians and monitor training progress.
  8. Manage parts inventory effectively.
  9. Lead and coach team members to collaborate efficiently and distribute service tickets appropriately.
  10. Utilize Lean Daily Management processes to create daily workflow plans and set measurable objectives for the team.
  11. Conduct regular meetings with maintenance staff to gather input and strengthen team relationships.
  12. Handle human resource administration tasks, including payroll and scheduling.
  13. Work closely with Human Resources to address personnel matters.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  2. ASE Master Certification is required.
  3. Valid Class C driver's license for over 3 years with a clean driving record.
  4. At least 5 years of experience in the automotive service industry, including a minimum of 3 years managing a large fleet operation or dealership.
  5. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  6. Ability to pass pre-hire/random drug and alcohol testing, DOT physical, and criminal background check.
  7. Preferred certifications in HVAC/reclamation and air conditioning repair.
  8. Strong operational management and customer service skills.
  9. Strategic thinker with the ability to motivate a team towards achieving goals.
  10. Effective team builder and talent developer.
