About the Role

Cox Automotive Mobility Fleet Services is seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic II to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a shop environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform DOT Inspections and Repairs: Conduct thorough inspections and repairs on trailers, including brake systems, air lines, auxiliary pumps, and engines.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication of equipment.
  • Diagnostic and Repair Skills: Diagnose and repair issues with trailer equipment and systems, including welding, fabrication, and replacement of panels, body, and framework.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Work effectively with service writers, shop managers, and other team members to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Adhere to Safety Protocols: Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required
  • Valid Driver's License: Required
  • DOT Medical Card: Required
  • ASE T8 (PMI) Certification: Required within 18 months
  • ASE T4 (Brakes), T5 (Suspension), T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems), and T7 (HVAC) Certifications: Preferred
  • Minimum 3 Years of Experience: Required as a Trailer Technician on medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair
