Position Summary:
The Fleet Safety & Compliance Manager is tasked with ensuring the secure and compliant functioning of our fleet. This role is vital in adhering to FMCSA & DOT regulations, overseeing all necessary pre and post-trip inspections, ELD compliance, training, and meticulous record-keeping. The manager will guarantee that all vehicles are roadworthy and that drivers are well-trained in professional driving standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to all FMCSA & DOT regulations.
- Oversee the daily pre and post-trip inspection processes along with the DVIR protocol.
- Develop and enhance the Company Safety & Training plan for drivers.
- Ensure compliance with preventative maintenance schedules and maintain thorough documentation.
- Monitor ELD & Safety software for compliance and safety performance.
- Conduct on-road safety inspections, including ride-alongs and surprise checks.
- Verify monthly fuel and mileage for IFTA reporting.
- Perform necessary repairs within the scope of expertise.
- Be available for road calls and onsite repairs as needed.
- Conduct accident investigations and provide re-training as necessary.
- Manage the fueling operations.
- Conduct daily yard checks and vehicle inspections.
- Collaborate closely with Transportation Managers to oversee on-road operations and deliveries.
- Maintain a flexible schedule, including on-call duties to support a six-day operation.
