  • Lead the resolution of technical quality issues and non-conformances, acting as a bridge between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with procurement to identify and qualify exceptional suppliers based on quality and their capacity to meet demanding production timelines.
  • Partner with suppliers to enhance their capabilities in producing unique products for SpaceX, often expanding their offerings into new materials and processes.
  • Establish and endorse process controls to manage critical characteristics.
  • Conduct design for manufacturing (DFM) evaluations to ensure parts are manufacturable from the outset, ideally before sourcing.
  • Oversee the new product introduction (NPI) process at suppliers for new components, drawing modifications, or when transitioning existing parts to new suppliers.
  • Propose technical product enhancements to minimize quality and delivery risks, as well as potential defect opportunities.
  • Assess and review supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems.
  • Provide constructive feedback on manufacturing methodologies and technologies.
  • Manage supplier improvement initiatives.
  • Enhance supplier quality performance through workshops at supplier facilities, offering technical assistance in developing quality systems, or other necessary support.
  • Exhibit innovation, technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, self-motivation, and courage.
  • Pursue results and prioritize customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with teams, lead projects, and continuously strive for improvement within the supply chain.

  • Experience with coil products, tubing, castings, and/or forgings.
  • Broad knowledge of ancillary processes related to the production of metallic parts, such as NDE and heat treatment.
  • Technical skills including proficiency in interpreting 2D blueprints and model drawings.
  • Understanding of supplier quality processes, including Production Part Approval Process, Advanced Product Quality Planning, and First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and techniques, such as design of experiments and Six Sigma.
  • Experience with Quality Systems (ISO 9000/TS/AS9100/NADCAP).
  • Disciplined problem-solving approach, such as 8D methodology.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and technical report writing.
  • Familiarity with lean principles.
  • Experience in sharing information and influencing others; strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of liaising cross-functionally and making presentations to team members and management.
  • Experience with MRP or ERP systems.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
