About the Role

At SpaceX, we're pushing the boundaries of traditional procurement practices to drive innovation and efficiency in our supply chain. As a Senior Procurement Specialist, Construction, you'll play a critical role in developing and implementing sourcing strategies that support our capital and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design and execute sourcing plans that optimize value and reduce costs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Manage contracts from RFP to completion, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform project control tasks, including budgeting and scheduling, to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Identify and execute cost reduction initiatives, including planning, coordination, and project updates.
  • Develop and implement management programs to monitor KPIs and improve supply base performance.
  • Conduct advanced quantitative analysis to inform sourcing decisions and optimize financial performance.
  • Perform business process analysis and develop models to improve cost and efficiency.
  • Source and onboard new suppliers to support dynamic business needs.
  • Place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices related to assigned categories.
  • Develop and lead efforts to reduce transactions and improve efficiencies for assigned categories.
  • Resolve invoice issues and ensure timely payment to vendors.
Requirements
  • Advanced degree or bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience in purchasing, contract negotiation, material planning, operations, or supply chain management.
  • Familiarity with industrial engineering, construction management, and/or facilities management.
  • Construction cost estimate experience.
  • Strong budget tracking and cost analytical skills.
  • Extensive project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing large-scale industrial and commercial construction projects.
  • Strong contract negotiation and document management skills.
  • Remarkable problem-solving skills with a bias for speed.
  • Quick learner and ability to prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge and skills in current technologies and applications.
  • Ability to conduct all activities with the highest degree of integrity.

Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to travel up to 20% of the workweek.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to meet major milestones.
  • This position is based in Brownsville, TX, and requires on-site work.
