LEAD, SUPPLY CHAIN OPERATIONS
The Supply Chain Operations team at SpaceX plays a vital role in overseeing the daily processes of receiving, distributing, and managing materials essential for rocket manufacturing and launches. Our objective is to excel in logistics performance, ensuring high on-time delivery rates. The Lead will oversee daily operations and strive to surpass customer expectations by spearheading continuous improvements in logistics management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage administrative tasks, including approving timecards, scheduling, conducting performance reviews, maintaining supply levels, and mentoring team members.
- Implement optimal logistics and inventory management practices, focusing on transportation solutions, kitting strategies, inventory control, and work order management in line with established procedures.
- Support and uphold metric goals for the Production Coordination and Inventory teams.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, address safety concerns, and advocate for safety protocols.
- Distribute workload for campaign work order management effectively, applying a strategic approach to kitting based on internal customer timelines.
- Collaborate with Shipping, Receiving, Quality Control, Transportation, Planning, and Purchasing departments to resolve material receipt and distribution issues.
- Act as the primary contact for audits and events related to the Production Coordination teams.
- Ensure a clean and organized workspace by continuously improving workspace design.
- Supervise the Production Coordination and Inventory Management teams.
- Encourage a culture of innovation where change is welcomed, and ideas are evaluated and implemented as appropriate.
- Perform additional related duties as necessary to maintain an efficient work environment.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or production/manufacturing; or 4+ years of relevant experience in these fields.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- APICS certification - CPIM or CSCP.
- Experience with Lean/6-Sigma methodologies (Green/Black Belt certifications).
- Strong communication and team-building abilities.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Experience in aerospace, aviation, or automotive manufacturing sectors.
- Hazmat Certification.
- Familiarity with transport regulations as outlined by 49CFR / IATA.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted, and perform tasks involving standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying.
- Willingness to work various shifts, extended hours, and weekends as required.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary range:
Lead, Supply Chain Operations: $95,000 - $115,000 annually.
Your specific level and salary will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one component of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also qualify for long-term incentives, such as company stock, stock options, or cash awards, along with potential discretionary bonuses and the opportunity to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various discounts and perks are also included. Employees accrue three weeks of paid vacation and are eligible for ten or more paid holidays each year. Exempt employees receive five days of sick leave annually.
