Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Systems Specialist III to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our agency's computer systems and networks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex computer-related problems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems, including network equipment and operating systems.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and technical support to agency staff, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with agency standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with vendors and technical staff to resolve technical issues and implement new technologies.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including backups, updates, and security patches, to ensure system integrity and availability.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to agency staff on the use of computer systems and software applications.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends, making recommendations for improvements and enhancements to our IT infrastructure.

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of network facilities, data processing techniques, and personal computer hardware and software.
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and resolve complex network and computer systems problems.
  • Experience with IBM or Dell personal computers or laptops, Microsoft Office, and performance monitoring and capacity management tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service and technical excellence.

Working Conditions:
This position requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail, with a strong focus on customer service and technical support. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines. The position may require occasional travel to remote locations and participation in after-hours on-call rotations.
