Regional Instrumentation Specialist

As a Regional Instrumentation Specialist, you will deliver technical expertise in instrumentation to enhance plant reliability. Your role will involve recommending and executing technical solutions aimed at prolonging equipment lifespan, diagnosing and resolving instrumentation challenges, and formulating preventative maintenance strategies across various facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to all safety, health, environmental, and quality regulations within the designated area.
- Provide technical support and maintenance assistance for instrumentation equipment across multiple plants, including PLC/DCS systems, control wiring, I/O, transmitters, positioners, control valves, pneumatic systems, and analytical instruments.
- Identify, plan, budget, and execute maintenance activities and improvement projects related to instrumentation.
- Advocate for the region's instrumentation reliability during project proposals and commercialization processes, contributing to scope and spare parts discussions.
Additional Duties:
- Assist the Area Production Director in achieving critical objectives related to safety, reliability, efficiency, cost management, and customer satisfaction.
- Foster a culture of safety within the Reliability and Maintenance team, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.
- Oversee the reliable operation of electrical and instrumentation equipment by conducting thorough reviews and assessments, and monitoring the implementation of action plans to mitigate identified risks.
- Support the development of internal standards for instrumentation reliability and maintenance procedures.
- Review and validate the execution of preventive maintenance tasks at assigned locations.
- Ensure that all sites maintain active contingency plans for instrumentation, addressing reliability risks as outlined.
- Manage the availability and condition of critical spare parts for electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Lead initiatives for the rectification of failed equipment, including decision-making for outages and conducting root cause analyses.
- Evaluate the technical capabilities of instrumentation contractors to ensure quality and scope alignment.
- Provide estimation and execution support for large-scale capital improvement projects.
- Champion continuous improvement efforts through established programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operational and engineering environments.
- At least 10 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation roles.
- Proven leadership in operational safety and experience in troubleshooting complex electrical systems.
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance methodologies and regulatory standards.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team or independently.
This position is essential for ensuring the operational excellence of our facilities and contributing to the overall success of the organization.
