We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse - NICU III to join our team at HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest. As a key member of our healthcare family, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our NICU department.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients in the NICU and Newborn Nursery.
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the NICU that guide and support the provision of services.
- Meet the standards of Practice for a Level II and Level III NICU and manage all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment.
- Participate in activities to plan, measure, assess, and improve the quality of patient care.
- Perform neonatal assessment of NICU patients and Newborn Nursery patients.
- Perform nursing care of NICU patients and Newborn Nursery patients.
- Perform gestational age assessments.
- Demonstrate appropriate usage and understanding of equipment used in the department.
- Participate in mandatory unit education activities.
- Participate in the discharge process to include parent teaching.
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing is required or must be currently enrolled.
- Current RN license in Texas and/or current Compact License.
- Current BCLS certification required.
- NRP certification within 90 days of hire.
- STABLE preferred.
- 1 year of current NICU experience required or will go through a training program, if one is available.
