About the Role

The Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, as well as maintaining strong relationships with existing clients through various communication channels, including phone calls, emails, industry events, and sales meetings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet sales targets set by the General Manager
  • Prospect for new customers through online research, phone calls, emails, and industry events
  • Complete a minimum number of in-person and virtual sales calls within the assigned territory
  • Maintain relationships with existing clients through regular meetings and communication
  • Develop new business opportunities with existing clients and gain referrals
  • Establish company relationships with prospective clients, present company capabilities, and assess testing needs
  • Schedule and complete phone and email contact with clients and prospects between meetings
  • Answer customer inquiries and direct technical questions to the appropriate personnel
  • Assist customers in coordinating sample testing
  • Prepare and send sales materials to clients and prospects, including price quotations and company literature
  • Resolve customer service issues with the Client Services team, Director of Sales and Marketing, and General Manager
  • Represent the company at trade shows and industry events
  • Maintain the company contact database with client, lead, and prospect information
  • Prepare a monthly report for the Sales Director, including sales goals, previous sales calls, pipeline information, and prospect visitation schedule
  • Assist with marketing functions as required
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a Life Science field or 2-5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Minimum 1-5 years of sales experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment
