Position Overview

Certified Laboratories Inc. stands as a prominent North American entity specializing in laboratory testing, audit, and certification services. Our diverse group encompasses various companies, providing comprehensive analytical testing and regulatory guidance across multiple sectors, including food & beverage, dietary supplements, cosmetics, and more.

We are seeking a Chemistry Operations Supervisor for our Vitamins sector to enhance our dynamic team.

In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations and provide strategic leadership to the Analytical Chemistry Vitamins Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee department personnel, equipment, quality assurance, and safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop proactive work plans and schedules, anticipating testing deadlines 5-7 days in advance.
  • Ensure timely delivery and adherence to promised turnaround times for all testing services.
  • Manage Quality Control programs, including SQC, LCS, standards, and spike testing, along with all associated QC data.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance protocols for all laboratory equipment.
  • Assist in method validations and matrix extensions for analytical methods.
  • Guarantee compliance with the ISO 17025 Quality System and Safety Programs.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the organization regarding testing status and its implications for business and clients.
  • Engage with clients, vendors, and suppliers to foster strong relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of analytical experience in a chemistry laboratory, particularly with GC testing and sample preparation techniques relevant to supplements and OTC products.
  • Proficiency in instrumentation, including HPLC, LC/MS/MS, and UPLC.
  • Ability to utilize instrument software, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with equipment vendors for optimal performance.
  • 2-3 years of demonstrated leadership experience supervising a team of five or more employees.
  • Exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Solid technical and quantitative skills.
  • Commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
