Job Summary:

The Culinary Operations Manager is tasked with supervising the daily culinary functions of the restaurant, which includes managing inventory, placing orders, creating recipe documentation, training staff, ensuring kitchen safety and cleanliness, and producing consistently high-quality dishes. This role also involves supporting the Executive Chef with various projects as needed. The Culinary Operations Manager may need to temporarily take on the responsibilities of the Chef in their absence.

Job Duties:

• Oversee food production and lead a team of culinary professionals to deliver five-star quality dishes to all patrons.

• Ensure strict adherence to recipe guidelines to maintain consistent quality, proper presentation, and food safety standards, consulting with the Chef for any concerns.

• Safely and correctly operate all kitchen equipment.

• Follow established safe food handling practices as dictated by the facility and Chef.

• Adhere to all sanitation and nutritional standards.

• Maintain compliance with portion sizes, quality standards, and departmental policies and procedures.

• Supervise and assist kitchen staff in all facets of food production.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Chef or General Manager as necessary.

Education/Experience/Skills:

• Minimum of three years in a similar culinary leadership role within a high-volume restaurant setting.

• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and time management.

• Ability to interact effectively with various levels of management.

• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and local health department standards.

• Proficient in computer skills with a working knowledge of general systems.

Physical Demands:

• The role requires light physical activity, including prolonged walking and standing, with occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
