We are seeking a Chemistry Operations Supervisor specializing in Vitamins to enhance our dynamic team.
In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations and provide strategic leadership to the Analytical Chemistry Vitamins Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage departmental staff, equipment, quality assurance, and safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with the team to develop proactive work plans and schedules, anticipating testing deadlines 5-7 days in advance.
- Ensure timely delivery and adherence to promised turnaround times for all testing services.
- Oversee Quality Control programs, including Statistical Quality Control (SQC), Laboratory Control Samples (LCS), and all associated QC data.
- Manage preventive maintenance schedules for all laboratory equipment.
- Assist in method validations and extensions for analytical methods.
- Guarantee compliance with the ISO 17025 Quality System and Safety Programs.
- Facilitate effective communication within the organization regarding testing status and its implications for business and clients.
- Engage with clients, vendors, and suppliers to maintain strong professional relationships.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of five years of analytical experience in a Chemistry laboratory, particularly with Gas Chromatography (GC) and related sample preparation techniques.
- Proficiency in instrumentation, including HPLC, LC/MS/MS, and UPLC.
- Ability to utilize instrument software, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with equipment vendors for optimal performance.
- 2-3 years of demonstrated leadership experience supervising a team of five or more employees.
- Exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Robust technical and quantitative skills.
- Commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
