About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Thomas Cuisine. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of our menu items, ensuring the highest standards of quality and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise and train a team of cooks and kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and presentation.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
  • Develop and implement menus, recipes, and cooking techniques to meet the needs of our customers and exceed their expectations.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and storage of food and supplies, ensuring optimal use of resources and minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as front-of-house and management, to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest culinary trends, techniques, and technologies to continuously improve our menu offerings and service standards.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.
  • Expert knowledge of food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Fine dining restaurant, hotel, or country club culinary experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with high-touch customer service environments.
  • Creativity and plate presentation skills are essential.
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable.
  • Must be experienced with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, and the Internet.
  • ServSafe certification is required.
  • Must be able to successfully complete criminal background checks (State and Federal) and drug screenings.
