Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Virginia Jobs. As an Ophthalmic Diagnostic Specialist, you will play a critical role in assisting our physicians and nurses in evaluating patients in our Eye Clinic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic Testing: Perform a variety of ophthalmic tests, including visual field testing, to aid in the evaluation of patients.
  • Measurement and Assessment: Conduct ophthalmic measurements and assessments to provide accurate data for our medical team.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the proper functioning of ophthalmic equipment and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Professional Growth: Stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and technologies in ophthalmology through ongoing education and training.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by our medical team to ensure the smooth operation of our Eye Clinic.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Experience: 1 year of relevant experience in ophthalmology or a related field
  • Certification: Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification by JCAHPO or equivalent
  • Skills: Proficient in ophthalmic testing and measurement, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions

This position requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent bending and stooping, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. You may be exposed to blood and body fluids, and must be able to wear personal protective equipment as needed.
