Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Central Sterile Technician to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the cleanliness and functionality of surgical instruments and equipment.

Compensation:
Starting pay is $19.61/hour, with potential increases based on experience. A sign-on bonus of $3,000 may be available for qualified candidates who commit to a one-year tenure, in accordance with institutional policies.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Certified Central Sterile Technician, your duties will include:

  • Performing decontamination, cleaning, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instruments and supplies.
  • Managing inventory tasks such as ordering, receiving, conducting cycle counts, and stocking supplies for the Operating Room.
  • Preparing and assembling surgical trays and equipment in accordance with established protocols.
  • Monitoring and documenting sterilization parameters to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Cleaning and decontaminating reusable equipment using various methods.
  • Operating the departmental bar code system for tracking surgical trays and instruments.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the storeroom and work areas.
  • Serving as a mentor and preceptor within the department.
  • Participating in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in Sterile Processing is required.
Licensure: Certification as a CRCST (Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician) or CSPDT (Central Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) is mandatory.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, frequent bending, stooping, and reaching. Candidates must possess strong communicative skills and attention to detail, with the ability to lift and move weights between 25-50 lbs. The work environment may involve exposure to various elements including chemicals and biological materials.
