Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at the University of Virginia. As a key member of our Eye Clinic, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians and nurses with diagnostic ophthalmic tests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of diagnostic ophthalmic tests, including visual field testing and ocular motility assessments.
  • Conduct ophthalmic measurements and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Continuously update your skills and knowledge to stay current with industry developments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • 1 year relevant experience
  • Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) Certification by JCAHPO or equivalent
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification
Physical Demands

The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent bending, and reaching. You must be able to lift/push/pull up to lbs. and be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
