Job Summary

Lantern Community Services Inc is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Program Director to oversee two supportive housing programs in Manhattan and The Bronx. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leadership, case management, and program development, with a focus on serving individuals with mental health illnesses, substance use, and chronic homelessness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire, Train, and Supervise Staff: Lead a team of social workers and case managers to provide supportive services to residents, including case management, counseling, and advocacy.
  • Program Development and Implementation: Develop and implement program services, including groups, community meetings, and activities, to meet the needs of residents and comply with funder regulations.
  • Case Management and Support: Provide regular supervision and support to staff, as well as case management support to residents, to ensure housing stability and advancement towards individualized goals.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with leasing and compliance staff, landlords, and community organizations to ensure effective program operations and resident support.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data to inform program decisions and provide regular written reports to senior management.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Master's degree in social work or related field, with at least 8 years of experience in supportive housing, including 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of HIV/AIDS, mental health, substance use, and chronic homelessness, as well as experience with electronic case management systems and data analysis.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Proven leadership and supervision skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff to achieve program goals.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including residents, staff, and community partners.
Working Environment

This position operates in a supportive housing site and works with a population who experiences mental illness, addiction, disability, HIV, and other chronic illnesses. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and provide support to residents with complex needs.
