Job Title: Commissioning Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our team at CloudHQ LLC. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers.

Job Summary:

The Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for planning and executing major maintenance and replacement activities, developing scripts and procedures for standard and emergency procedures, and facilitating tabletop exercises and drills to improve incident response.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning and executing major maintenance and replacement activities
  • Develop scripts and procedures for standard and emergency procedures
  • Facilitate tabletop exercises and drills to improve incident response
  • Assist with troubleshooting issues that affect uptime
  • Assist in reviewing design for new projects and provide feedback around operability
  • Identify and assist in executing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Actively represent the Operations team in factory witness tests for new equipment
  • Assist in evaluating new equipment and technologies
  • Conduct reviews of design packages, monitoring, and analyzing equipment tests
  • Assist with turnover of new equipment and buildings
  • Assist in performing root cause analysis
Requirements:
  • An Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in commissioning and/or operations in a mission-critical environment
  • Keen understanding of data center systems (electrical or mechanical)
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to exercise critical judgment
  • Demonstrated professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Expertise in core Microsoft office suite applications (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask while managing changing priorities for multiple projects
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation
  • Ability to maintain excellent relationships with contractors, clients, and other departments
  • Ability and willingness to move about the work area and travel to worksites as needed or required
  • Ability and willingness to respond to emails and phone calls after hours in the event of an emergency
