The Senior Commissioning Engineer plays a pivotal role in overseeing the commissioning processes for various systems within a data center environment. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with the development team and external contractors to ensure that installations align with operational standards.
  • Crafting detailed commissioning strategies for all system levels, focusing on connectivity, network security, life safety, and building automation.
  • Executing comprehensive testing and validation procedures to confirm that all systems meet industry standards and client requirements.
  • Identifying and addressing any challenges encountered during the commissioning phase, while providing insights to enhance project management processes.
  • Preparing and reviewing essential commissioning documentation, including testing protocols and final reports, to ensure thoroughness and precision.
  • Overseeing the testing of equipment and validating operational sequences to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Working alongside diverse teams, including design engineers and project managers, to facilitate seamless system integration without disrupting ongoing operations.
  • Implementing quality assurance measures to uphold the highest standards throughout the commissioning process, adhering to regulatory and industry best practices.
  • Developing site-specific operational procedures and training programs for end-users and maintenance staff.
  • Utilizing change management processes to secure approvals for maintenance activities and ensuring proper documentation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Construction Management, Project Management, or Engineering.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in data center engineering, commissioning, or project management.
  • Familiarity with building maintenance systems, including CCTV, access control, and fire safety systems.
  • Willingness to travel to various data center locations as necessary.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • US Citizenship is required for this position due to federal customer contracts.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems relevant to data centers.
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution systems and emergency backup solutions.
  • Experience with mechanical cooling systems and their operational requirements.
  • Familiarity with equipment maintenance and operational protocols.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to analyze system operations and troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Capacity to develop innovative solutions and technical plans for projects.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on teamwork.
  • Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with web-based applications.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting and moving equipment as needed.
