Role Overview:

The Process Control Engineer serves as a leader and advocate for a safe work environment, promoting safety and excellence in all operational areas.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the dependable operation of the mill's control systems, both hardware and software.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to fellow engineers and technicians.
  • Establish and maintain effective record-keeping systems in designated areas.
  • Assist in troubleshooting processes and maintenance activities, including Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
  • Manage alarm systems effectively.
  • Support the implementation of Instrument and Electrical Precision Maintenance (IEPM) across the mill.
  • Offer process and maintenance support for environmental systems.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to resolve process-related issues.
  • Engage with operations to enhance operator interfaces and develop familiarity with graphic design.
  • Pursue process optimization through innovative control strategies.
  • Participate actively in the IEPM process.
  • Be available for weekend and night shifts to provide technical leadership and support during startups.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will possess:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in a continuous process environment.
At least 3 years of experience in process control or engineering.
Strong foundational knowledge in controls engineering and associated systems.
Interpersonal skills suitable for working within a diverse, non-union organization.
Ability to collaborate effectively with peers and various stakeholder groups.
Capacity to foster and maintain positive team dynamics.

Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening), along with strong organizational, planning, and facilitation abilities, are essential for achieving results through teamwork.

Ability to thrive with minimal supervision in a collaborative environment.
