Job Summary

Aurora Flight Sciences is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Process Optimization Specialist to join our team. As an Industrial Process Optimization Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating processes to optimize operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement process improvements to optimize operational efficiency
  • Use mathematical, process, and simulation models to optimize use and integration of facilities, equipment, materials, processes, and personnel
  • Work closely with Production/Operations Management, Quality Engineering, Program Management, Contracts, and Supply Chain organizations to support their assigned responsibilities
  • Assist with production technology efforts, including identifying new technologies and core processes for manufacturing
  • Perform engineering duties on development programs, including design and manufacturing engineering
  • Develop processes and product flows for part manufacture that meet program budget requirements
  • Creation of process documentation, including specification creation/revision, work instructions, and training processes
  • Assist with creation of control programming required to support product builds
  • Work with production control and assist with production efforts on the production floor
  • Assist with Program, Manufacturing, and Quality Plan creation
  • Assist with development and tracking of program schedules with stakeholders
  • Customer coordination, including new program kick-off, recurring status, and technical interchange meetings
  • Manufacturing capacity analysis
  • Factory layouts and flow optimization, including recommendations for factory expansions
  • Positional tooling and machine requirements
  • Automation and robotic manufacturing applications
  • Work measurement/time standards development
  • Production performance metrics and analysis
  • Special studies and projects
  • Staffing models
  • Production & rate production readiness assessments
  • Recovery planning
  • Facilities and workplace design
  • Workflow analysis and simulation
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Industrial Engineering Technology from an accredited university (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Demonstrated ability to use software tools to support Industrial Engineering, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, Visio, and PowerPoint
  • Must be a US Person
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience utilizing ERP/MRP planning systems and bill of material interrogation for process planning
  • Teamwork skills, including providing and welcoming feedback, contributing to building a positive team spirit, and putting the success of the team above personal interests
  • Interpersonal skills, including focusing on solving conflict, maintaining confidentiality, listening to others without interrupting, speaking clearly and persuasively, and participating in meetings

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work in a factory environment and follow Boeing regulations for lifting
  • Must work onsite in Columbus, MS
