Core Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and enhance manufacturing processes to drive improvements.
- Ensure reliable and safe operations while optimizing production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, and changeovers.
- Innovate and develop effective solutions to complex challenges.
- Enhance process capability and production volume while upholding quality standards.
- Prepare and analyze samples for testing, ensuring compliance with customer specifications.
- Collect, document, and analyze data, presenting findings in comprehensive reports.
- Design and implement systems that optimize all aspects of the production process.
- Provide guidance on corrective actions and collaborate with equipment designers to create cost-effective production solutions.
- Manage project timelines and adhere to financial budgets.
- Research and procure new manufacturing technologies.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of operational work standards.
- Collaborate with advanced product development teams to establish baseline processing standards for new products and methods.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills, complemented by a strong mathematical foundation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Proven experience in Lean Six Sigma Manufacturing (Black Belt or Green Belt preferred).
- Proficient in software applications, including Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as CAD systems (AutoCAD, Spinfire).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while effectively leading, coaching, and developing team members.
Education and Experience:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience (5+ years) in:
- Manufacturing Operations
- Lean Manufacturing
- Automotive Quality Systems
- Professional certifications such as ASQ-CQE, CQA, or CQM are advantageous.
- Training in APQP, Six Sigma, 8-D, and 5S Visual Factories is preferred.
Working Conditions:
- The role involves medium to heavy physical demands, including the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, with tasks involving transporting, positioning, stooping, and bending.
- Exposure to various environmental conditions typical of manufacturing settings, including occasional loud noises, dust, and temperature variations.
