Job Description

As a Litigation Support Specialist, you will provide administrative support to the lawyer, enhancing law office effectiveness. Your responsibilities will include communicating with clients, law offices, insurance adjusters, medical offices, and experts. You will manage Prelitigation and Litigation matters from start to finish, open and close files, manage a caseload of up to 80, assist in preparing for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial, and prepare and file complaints, motions, briefs, and arbitration statements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to the lawyer, including managing calendars and coordinating meetings.
  • Communicate with clients, law offices, insurance adjusters, medical offices, and experts via email, phone, or in-person.
  • Manage Prelitigation and Litigation matters from start to finish, including reviewing discovery, summarizing deposition testimony, and preparing special packages.
  • Open and close files, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Manage a caseload of up to 80, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Assist in preparing for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial, including organizing exhibits and preparing witness lists.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have at least five years of working experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in the personal injury area of law. Familiarity with New Jersey e-courts and N.J. court rules and legal procedures is also essential. Additionally, you should have advanced skills in working with case management systems, such as SmartAdvocate, Filevine, or Needles, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Dropbox.
