Lead Water and Wastewater Engineering Specialist

Your Responsibilities:
- Oversee the design of water and wastewater treatment systems for new projects, assessments, and rehabilitation efforts.
- Mentor and guide Staff Engineers in their professional development.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team through project scoping, execution, and construction phases.
- Develop comprehensive engineering reports, construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and supporting documentation.
- Provide construction support services, including site visits and client meetings.
- Serve as the primary contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service to local municipal, state, and federal stakeholders.
- Drive marketing and operational initiatives for water and wastewater treatment projects in the Rocky Mountain region.
- Enhance the Tetra Tech brand through collaboration with professional and community organizations.
- Manage project risks and uphold standard engineering practices, ensuring thorough documentation through Quality Assurance / Quality Control Programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Over 10 years of progressive experience in the municipal engineering sector.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Colorado is mandatory.
- Proven design experience in water and wastewater treatment projects.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams in project planning and client engagement.
- Proficient in navigating jurisdictional and regulatory permitting processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative office environment with strong interpersonal skills.
- Highly motivated and a valuable team contributor.
- Familiarity with process modeling software (e.g., BioWin, Sumo) is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel periodically, approximately 15% or more.
