Position Summary


AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Hydraulic Modeling Engineer/Project Manager to enhance our Colorado water and wastewater team. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in civil or environmental engineering, specifically in hydraulic analysis of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.


Key Responsibilities

The primary duties of this role include:

1. Conducting hydraulic computations and performing computer modeling and analysis of water distribution and wastewater collection systems utilizing specialized software such as InfoWater, InfoSewer, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, H2OMap, EPANET, SWMM/PCSWMM, and InfoWorks ICM.
2. Developing calibrated hydraulic models of existing infrastructure to simulate performance under various conditions.
3. Analyzing modeling results to provide insights into system behavior and identify optimization opportunities.
4. Collaborating with engineers, planners, and stakeholders to integrate modeling insights into project design and planning.
5. Utilizing ArcGIS, AutoCAD, or database management software to incorporate spatial data into modeling workflows.
6. Preparing technical reports and presentations to effectively communicate findings and recommendations.
7. Providing technical support and guidance to project teams and clients regarding modeling methodologies and software applications.
8. Mentoring junior hydraulic modelers and engineers in hydraulic modeling analyses.
9. Staying informed on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to water and wastewater modeling.
10. Managing compliance with contract terms and monitoring subcontractor adherence to commitments.
11. Overseeing water and wastewater planning projects, including preparation of work plans, scopes, schedules, and budgets, while ensuring project objectives are met.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field with 8 years of relevant experience in hydraulic analysis and computer modeling of water/wastewater systems or equivalent experience and education.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience leading modeling aspects of projects and mentoring junior staff, proficiency in multiple hydraulic transient modeling software platforms, and a strong understanding of hydraulic principles and modeling techniques.


Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks effectively. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
