Job Title: Sous Chef

Urban Kitchen & Deli is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic team in Cleveland, Ohio. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement sanitation schedules to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Oversee the cleaning and organization of the kitchen, including utensils and equipment.
  • Properly receive and store food and food-related items, adhering to sanitary methods.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment to maintain stock levels and monitor inventory.
  • Follow established protocols for food handling and storage.
  • Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow for employees.
  • Recommend disciplinary action and review documents with the Food Service Director/General Manager.
  • Complete all required training and perform other job duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High school education or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum one-year prep work or food service-related work experience.
  • Knowledge of food prep, proper knife handling, temperature control, and sanitation is essential.
  • Ability to use a computer and perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate proper communication with others.
  • Must be able to understand and execute recipes, menus, and production sheets.
